Extended Completion of Morley Border Crossing
As a business dedicated to providing convenient parking solutions near the border, we find ourselves amidst an exciting yet challenging time. The ongoing infrastructure improvements at the pedestrian crossing on Morley/Elias Street bring anticipation and adjustments to our daily lives.
The extensive renovation of the pedestrian crossing connecting Elias Street to Morley Street in Nogales, Arizona, is progressing rapidly. According to workers involved in the project, the new facility is set to be unveiled on December 10th, showcasing the commitment to enhancing the border-crossing experience.
The journey began on September 25th with the demolition of the old facilities. Spearheaded by the Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional (Sedena), the project aimed initially for completion by November 25th. However, due to unforeseen circumstances and the complexity of the task, the deadline has been extended.
While promising enhanced facilities, this remodeling venture has posed challenges for both pedestrian and passenger vehicle traffic at the DeConcini Port of Entry. The construction activities have not only impacted the ease of movement for pedestrians but have also affected passenger vehicle traffic significantly.
Only two passenger lanes remain open, creating a temporary bottleneck for those crossing the border. The Sentri users lane remains operational, offering expedited passage for pre-approved travelers. We are closely monitoring the situation.
Understanding the inconvenience caused by the reduction in available lanes, we encourage our patrons to plan accordingly, allowing additional time during peak hours. Despite the challenges, we remain steadfast in our dedication to providing reliable and secure parking solutions for those navigating the changes at the border.
As the remodeling project nears completion, we look forward to a more efficient and modernized border-crossing experience for all. Our parking lot, strategically located to serve the DeConcini Port of Entry, is committed to being a reliable partner throughout this transitional period. Thank you for your continued trust.
