Morley Avenue Pedestrian Crossing Update
Hello Again, Nogales Community and Travelers!
We're back with another important update for everyone who navigates the border between Nogales, Arizona, and our vibrant neighbor, Mexico. Remember our previous post about the changes at the Morley border crossing? Well, it's time for a quick yet crucial follow-up.
Morley Avenue Crossing: Still Closed
As many of you are aware, the Morley Avenue pedestrian crossing has been closed for renovations on the Mexican side on calle Elias since last September. This closure is part of the ongoing effort to enhance the facilities and infrastructure at the crossing, ensuring a better experience for pedestrians on the Mexican side.
Current Status: Closure Continues
As of now, the Morley Avenue crossing remains closed. There has been some chatter and speculation, with voices suggesting that the crossing might reopen by the end of January 2024. However, please note that these are only speculations; no official announcement has been made regarding the reopening date.
Alternate Crossing: DeConcini Still the Way to Go
While Morley Avenue is under construction, pedestrian traffic continues to be redirected to the DeConcini crossing.
